Blackberry Storm 2 Stats & Features
Posted by admin in BlackBerry Storm 2 Reviews on November 23, 2009

The recently released Blackberry Storm 2 is a strong successor to Blackberry’s initial touchscreen smartphone.
Improved Speed
The original Blackberry Storm was a bit on the slow side. The Storm would lag when the user tilted the screen from vertical to horizontal, or during regular use. The new Storm 2 is much faster through “hardware and software enhancements“.
Wi-Fi networking has been added to the Storm 2. Users can now connect to the Internet through super-fast 802.11 b/g connections.
The Storm 2 is initially being released for Verizon’s EV-DO, 3G network. Verizon offers the most reliable data network across the United States. Accessing and using the Internet via the Storm’s Internet Browser will be faster and easier than before.
Greater Usability
The Storm’s touchscreen has also been improved. RIM has added SurePress technology, which provides feedback when the touchscreen is pressed–much like a keyboard. Multi-touch support has been added, so that you can press two different buttons on the screen at the same time (to capitalize using the SHIFT key, or to use the ALT key for other functions…).
Access to social networks, like Facebook, is easy to setup and use.
Each Storm 2 also comes with 2GB internal memory and a 16GB microSD card for extra storage. The Storm 2 will also be able to use 32GB microSD cards as they are available.
Global roaming is also possible with the Storm 2. The phone can be taken overseas and used on GSM networks–it’s not limited to the Verizon network!
The latest Bluetooth technology has also been incorporated into the Storm 2’s design.
And finally, the Storm 2 features GPS technology to help you get to where you need to go! Of course, with GPS, geo-tagging is also possible!
It’s Even Prettier Than Before
The finish of the Storm 2 has also been redone. The four plastic buttons that sat at the bottom of the first Storm’s screen are now integrated into the touchscreen for the Storm 2. The overall feel of the phone has also been improved, In all, it feels like a solid, worthy piece of hardware for anyone looking for the best smartphone for the price.

AP Review: “New BlackBerry Storm improves on original”
Posted by admin in BlackBerry Storm 2 Reviews on November 23, 2009
The Blackberry Storm 2 was recently released this past October, and it has quietly been impressing many people.
Rachel Metz of the Associated Press posted a review of the new Blackberry Storm a little over a week ago.
To sum up Metz’s review: the Storm 2 is “faster, smarter and more fun to use” than the first iteration of the Storm.
Issues with the Storm’s touchscreen that features physical feedback is much improved.
The four buttons at the bottom of the screen have incorporated into the Storm 2’s touchscreen.
The Storm 2 featured good reception everywhere Metz traveled.
Also, this version of the Blackberry Storm features Wi-Fi! So the user is far less reliant on cellular signals and can use an 802.11b/g connection!
The full AP review of the Storm 2 has been posted on Google News.
